TOMMY HILFIGER FT ZENDAYA SHOWCASES 70’S FASHION COLLECTION
This past weekend 22 year old American actress Zendaya showcased her 70’s inspired TOMMY HILFIGER fashion collection on an all black cast of 59 models of all sizes. Fashion-world legends like Beverly Johnson (the first African-American model to star on the cover of American Vogue), Veronica Webb (the first black woman to have a major cosmetics contract) and Pat Cleveland (who once modeled for Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino and many more) were among the lineup, was a 70 yr old GRACE JONES, who shut down the show!
“We’re paying homage to these women who changed our legacy … and allowed for me and so many others to be here,” Zendaya said in a pre-show interview with her longtime stylist and collaborator Law Roach. “This is about saying we appreciate and love you.”
Zendaya made it clear that she sought to design a collection that was reflective of all women. “Size inclusivity has been important to me always,” she said.
