AKA mocked for not winning a BET Award
South African rapper, song writer and record producer AKA has been roasted on social media for not winning a BET Award this year.
Fans took to twitter to mock the rapper for coming back home without an award after being nominated in the Best international Act in the awards that were held on Sunday 23 June in Los Angeles.
This has led to the revival of a hash tag that AKA is believed to have started when his rival Cassper Nyovest also failed to win a BET Award last year. The hash tag ‘#Akawinanga’ which means ‘He did not win’ trended on social media last year.
AKA was nominated alongside Dave (United Kingdom), Giggs (United Kingdom), Mr Eazi (Nigeria), Aya Nakamura (France) and Nigeria’s Burna Boy who won the award.
Although he did not win, AKA is the only artist to receive a Gold Coin from BET for being the most nominated act at the 2019 BET Awards.
