Sho Madjozi gets approval from John Cena
South Africans couldn’t help but bask with pride after John Cena posted a picture of their own on his Instagram page over the weekend.
The legendary wrestler and actor gave thumps up to Sho Madjozi’s latest single titled John Cena.
John Cena (the song) was for a performance at the COLORS, an international music platform.
Speaking to Sowetan Live, Sho Madjozi said that John Cena inspired her to write this song because he is the coolest wrestler and former rapper.
Explaining the meaning of the song she said the inspiration derived from John Cena’s tag line, ‘You can’t see me’, “I am talking about someone that was not seeing me, so I thought maybe I am John Cena because this guy was not seeing me.”
The Huku hitmaker could not believe the overwhelming response that the song got from all over the world. Not only is it trending in South Africa, but it is also topping charts in other African countries and is promising to be one of the best summer hit songs this year.
“The John Cena video has hit half a million views. It’s trending on #1 in South African YouTube and #4 in Kenya,” she posted on her Instagram page.
It looks like the sky is the limit for the Limpopo born singer/songwriter who recently bagged a BET award for the New International Act.
