Stop singing! Fans tell Dj Cuppy

After initiating a hype that trended for more than a month, the much anticipated Gelato song by Nigerian female Dj, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola popularly known as Dj Cuppy featuring Zlatan Ibile is finally out and fans are not impressed.

Reading through the comments concerning the song on various social media platforms, one can tell that music lovers are clearly not appreciating the track.

“I’m sorry but I have to say this…Cuppy stop singing please…😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏…it’s not for you”

“Please, how can I unhear that Gelato Crap?”

“Dj Cuppy I love you but music is not for you sis! I had to stop playing the music because I couldn’t take it!” were some of the comments on the song.

Although it has received negative comments, the song has been trending on the Nigerian Apple music chart and on Twitter taking number 3 after Blow my mind by Davido and Chris Brown on number 1 and Burna Boy’s Anybody taking second place.

Fans still believe that the Gelato song is trending for the wrong reasons while others are of the opinion that it is topping charts because it features Zlatan Ibile.

Another Instagram user had this to say, “It’s trending because it is trashy. Sister stick to your Dj thing. You have F9 in music. Even your dad’s money can’t save you.”

The Gelato hype went viral when Cuppy and her billionaire father Femi Otedola made a quick stop in Italy for some Gelato (Italian-style ice cream) during their holiday last month. Cuppy then collaborated with Zlatan to track befittingly named after the ice-cream.

After sharing the news that something new was cooking, fans have been anxiously waiting for the gelato to be served, and now that it is here, they are not impressed.
